This was incredibly inspiring and helpful. It's a new way to look at content creation. Everybody always talks about "know your audience." Nobody really shares how.

I will be following this closely, Zane. I'm excited!

Yay! 😁 Really happy to hear you're excited!

That phrase "know your audience." is what started this design + fiction publication idea.

I've also heard it a ton of times, which got me thinking about my design knowledge and how fiction writing and design thinking have such a large overlap conceptually.

I've got a four part cycle planned for August:

1. Design Concept: This post

2. Tool Time: Notion and using it to capture ideas

3. Experiment: Can I create a book cover in under an hour using AI?

4. Author/Community Interview: What can we learn from each other?

Which is to say, the next part in the Design series will be 1 Sept.

I hope that's not too long a wait!

I've already designed a few possible book covers for my thriller novel using A1.

So, yes. It can be done. I really like a lot of the covers. I have saved 3 possibilities. Maybe 4.

Nothing is too long to wait for me right now! I'm in the middle of a move across the country, from Texas to NYS. We leave September 1.

Once we get to Rochester, unpacking and getting settled and finding work are going to be priorities. I'm also hoping to take some in person creative writing classes.

I really love the marriage of design and writing. Fiction and nonfiction. I know, for example, design and memoir could be an incredibly powerful combination. Because a good memory isn't just about the facts. It's really all in the presentation.

Zane, this is a brilliant idea and I can't wait!

Oh wow that's an adventure - good luck with it I hope it goes smoothly!

That's quite the weather change isn't it?

Thank you again for the kind words, it's an exciting experiment that's for sure. 😀
