A Tiny But Meaningful Update
Outlining sorcery and a surprise release on Substack.
The more I write these the more I believe less is more.
Since we ( or I? It feels like a monologue at times) last spoke I’ve been on a mad outlining binge and have powered through the rest of my novel.
I absolutely loved it!
That’s right, I’m a pantser and I loved outlining.
How could this be?!
What sorcery is this?
I’ve worked out a system and framework with my AI Assistant to speed through the process so that it didn’t ever feel like work.
I hacked my own psychology by making this part fun, and I’ve done more outlining in the last week than I’ve done in my life. Victory!
I mean detailed outlines, with the POV character’s goal, their deep why and how they go about getting it. Even sensory details and world building reminders.
All based on what I learnt from my batch editing process.
All geared to improving my first drafts and reducing editing time.
Now I just need to make time to write this all up for you.
That’s it.
Just a tiny update.
Back to writing for you and for me.

PS — I finally started releasing my cyberpunk novel Slave to Memory on Substack. Why? Because my brother asked how he could read my work and I didn’t have a free and easy answer.
A Tiny But Meaningful Update
Thanks for the tiny update, very encouraging. 💙
I always appreciate brief peeks behind the writing curtain.
